Work with a small, local pest control team

We are looking for one licensed exterminator to join a small, owner-operated business. You would run your own day of residential and commercial jobs across Waterloo Region and the 401 corridor, with the owner reachable all day.

At a glance
  • Role: Licensed Exterminator
  • Type: Full-time
  • Based in: Waterloo Region (Cambridge and Kitchener)
  • Pay: Pay depends on licence class and experience, and is discussed on the call.

What you need

These are the parts we cannot be flexible on. The licence and the driver's licence come first, because without either one we cannot send you to a job.

  • A valid Ontario structural exterminator licence, or a technician licence with your exams already booked. We do not put an unlicensed person on treatments.
  • A full Class G driver's licence and a clean driving abstract. Jobs are spread across the region and you will drive between them all day.
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • A clear criminal record check. We work inside occupied homes, rental units and food premises.
  • Able to do the physical part of the job: ladders and roof access, crawl spaces and attics, carrying equipment, and wearing a respirator for part of the day.
  • Label discipline. Read and follow the product label every time, mix accurately, and keep the records straight.
  • Service notes a customer and a health inspector can both follow.
  • Plain, patient communication. Customers are often embarrassed or anxious, and how you explain the work matters as much as the treatment.
  • Flexible on timing. Appointments run seven days a week by arrangement, including some early starts and evenings.
  • A smartphone for scheduling, job photos and reports.

Helpful, but not required

Tell us if you have any of these. They change the kind of work we can take on, so they are worth mentioning.

An asset

Wildlife exclusion experience: raccoon, skunk and bat work, screening and one-way doors.

An asset

Bed bug steam or heat treatment experience.

An asset

Commercial or food-premises work, including written inspection reports.

An asset

Basic sealing and repair skills — mesh, vents, soffits, weather stripping.

An asset

A second language spoken widely in the region.

What we offer

We are a small, local business rather than a franchise, and the job looks like that in practice.

Working here

A small team. You speak to the owner directly, not a dispatch centre or a regional manager.

Working here

Local routes. We are based in Waterloo Region, so most days are short drives rather than highway hours.

Working here

Time to do the job properly. We quote the work honestly and nobody is pushed to upsell a customer.

Working here

Preparation and follow-up are explained to every customer before booking, so you are not arriving to fix someone else's vague promise.

Working here

Products, equipment and PPE supplied.

How hiring works

Three steps, no panel interviews.

1

Send us a note with your licence class and a short summary of the work you have done.

2

A phone call to talk through the role, the schedule and pay.

3

A ride-along on real jobs, so both sides can tell whether it fits.

Interested?

Send us a note.

Email or call with your licence class and a short summary of the work you have done. A full résumé is welcome but not required to start the conversation. We reply to everyone who writes.
